FAQs
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you are finding yourself feeling stuck, unmotivated, or like life is just a drag right now, therapy can be a good place to land. You don’t need to be in a total crisis to start. If you aren't sure how to make a change, but you know you are craving one, that is more than enough of a reason to reach out.
I've never been to therapy before. How does therapy actually work?
To me, therapy is a dedicated space where you can learn to be completely honest about your thoughts, beliefs, dreams, and fears.
You get to decide why you’re here and what you want to get out of it. There is no "right" way to do this, and you don’t need to have anything figured out before your first session. Together, we will look at where your beliefs and habits came from so we can understand you better. The goal is to help you live an integrated, honest life that actually feels true to who you are and aligns with your core values.
What is it like to work with you?
I value mutual respect, real human connection, and transparency. My main focus is always your safety and comfort, but I will also gently challenge you to question fixed narratives or old patterns. We will work together as a team to understand why you think, feel, and act the way you do, helping you discover your own answers along the way.
Will you tell me what to do in therapy?
I won't tell you what to do, inside or outside of our sessions. Instead, I will help you question what you think you should do, and explore why you feel that way.
Our sessions are a safe, secure place for you to bring whatever feels relevant or confusing in your life. Rather than giving you answers or having you rely on me, my goal is to help you build the self-trust you need to make your own decisions with confidence.
Who do you typically work with?
I work with adults across the lifespan, from emerging adults (ages 18–29) navigating the start of their independence, to senior citizens (65+) exploring later life stages. Many of my clients come in sorting through identity conflicts, imposter syndrome, life transitions, relationships, and self-esteem issues.
A large part of my practice includes immigrants and children of immigrants. Together, we focus on discovering who you are, individuating, and navigating complex familial relationships.
I also work with couples, with a specific focus on interracial or multicultural partnerships, as well as couples navigating the unique dynamics and challenges of ethically non-monogamous (ENM) relationships.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
At this time, I only offer virtual therapy sessions. Individual sessions run for 45–50 minutes, and couples sessions are 50–55 minutes.
Do you accept insurance or private pay?
I am in-network with Aetna. For all other insurance providers, I am happy to provide you with the out-of-network paperwork (superbills) you need to seek reimbursement. I also welcome private-pay clients.
What are your fees and cancellation policy?
My out-of-pocket rates are discussed directly during our initial consultation. I believe therapy should be accessible, so I reserve a limited number of slots in my practice for income-based, sliding-scale rates.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I require at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled or missed with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to the full session fee.
